Within a short drive of Montreal, you can be right in the heart of Lanaudière, in all its pristine perfection. Here you’ll find a different world of peace and natural wonders, in a place that’s popularly called “the Green Region” – and for good reason!

Lanaudière is also a land of numerous lakes and rivers that will tempt you to enjoy the pleasures of canoeing, kayaking, camping and the beach. The northern part of the region offers up magnificent scenic tours along its back-roads, whatever your chosen mode of transport. To the south and in the central part of the region, nature is evident in all its seductive beauty, with many places in which to enjoy recreational opportunities, including the Berthier Islands, unique in all of Quebec. Here you can explore by kayak, bicycle or on foot!

Lanaudière, this wonderfully colourful region, is the perfect place to indulge in every possible kind of outdoor activity. Hikers will find their own paradise in the various regional parks, wildlife reserves, ZECs or in Mont-Tremblant National Park. Don’t forget your camera… you’ll want to bring these sights and experiences back with you!

The part of the National Trail that passes through Lanaudière traverses the Matawinie from east to west over more than 170 km. Crossing some of the most beautiful natural areas of northern Lanaudière, the Trail leads you through pristine wilderness and some wonderfully varied countryside. Your journey will also take you through some of the regional parks of Matawinie.

Bird-spotters will love Lanaudière’s rich and diversified bird life. The flora, too, is highly varied. Thrill-seekers can try their hand at treetop-trekking or rock climbing on the many natural rock faces! You’ll never be bored in Lanaudière!

The pleasures of winter are also many and varied in Lanaudière, with a multitude of sports and recreational activities to enjoy in the region. Its geographic diversity, varying altitudes and outstanding snow conditions combine to give Lanaudière a long winter season. Fans of cross-country skiing, alpine skiing and snowshoeing will find many interesting trails to challenge them.

This non-profit organization brings business people together with the aim of helping the region's economy grow by coordinating, developing and promoting tourism.
